Frankie is now three weeks post spinal surgery op….
He’s on the underwater treadmill for the second time at Dogs In Motion Canine Rehabilitation doing physio and we are encouraging him not to stop….

Three weeks ago Dr Charles at Southpaws Specialty Surgery for Animals performed a spinal laminactomy and a synovial cyst that has been causing Frankie’s progressive hind leg weakness removed…
Whilst Frankie’s back legs are still not normal we can see some signs of strength returning and range of motion is slightly improved….

Weeks of physio and crating still are to come…
Lucky he has good wishes from everyone….

Frankie has been crated since February back legs had only slightly improved…
It was tempting to try and push aside the gut feelings that something was not quite right when he moved…

But a little voice was always there saying that we had to at least firstly do a CT & mylogram and then spinal surgery to know that we tried…
Three weeks post op it’s awesome to know we did the right thing and to watch Frankie taking underwater strides….

Frankie is a little fighter that has never once given up…
Even when he was a terrible sick pup…
His spinal surgery is just another example of why we shouldn’t give up and need to continue to try…
And seek answers, solutions and ask what can be done, how and why…
As there are answers, solutions and ways to improve everything…
We are very lucky that Frankie’s answer leaves us all with a big grin….
